GOVERNMENT COMMUNITY SERVICE

Dada  Tippos                                                                                                  12/6/’15

The community service I’ve serviced is the production of the Fall 2016 musical “run to you” at PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club.

At Fowler High School, the Fowler Drama Club helps students to be more active in acting and teaching them how to work and associate  with other ethnic groups. In my observant, the role of the Fowler Drama Club is to educate every participants on a historical events to act and show honor to the community. The Fowler Drama Club encouraged students to be well organized. Often they are disorganized, off topic in social skills, involve in conflicts. Most of all to inspire them in getting a better education to prepare for a better future.

The  PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club provides their services during after school drama program. The services start at 2:30pm and end at 5:00pm.

The PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club provides their services at PSLA/ George W. Fowler High School in Syracuse New York.

The role of the PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club is to keep students active and involve themselves in social activities that might give the inspirations that would benefit them for the new world ahead of them.  The program helps for the students to follow their dreams ahead for their benefit of becoming actors and actresses. The Club also allows volunteers like me to experience what they do.

During my volunteering work at PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club, the job was to organize the musical papers and cleaning unnecessary materials. Sometimes I used to sweep the floor before my boss opens her classroom door to start directing her actors and actresses. I used to watch the others performed their plays while organizing papers, tables, chairs, and sometimes her laptops when she forget to put them away.

For every hour, I have to check every materials to make sure all were well organized and neat. I learned to work with other students who were in the play to experience other skills that were involved in the drama club. I helped direct people to the rest rooms in order to keep every places clean and civilized. I was volunteered to joined the drama crews to be part of the correct some mistakes that were unclear to everyone.

The PSLA /Fowler Drama Club is very positive and educational. Most of the times when I’m cleaning, the members of the club helped me to organize the chairs and tables, when I was too busy. I learned how to be patient when there’s no work to do. When someone makes a mistake , the other students help or tell you how to correct your mistakes without any problems or harassments from anybody.

When I was doing the volunteering work, it felt like I made a difference in the community. Helping the teacher organizing her materials before the next school hours, helped her to stay on topic without worrying about organizing and cleaning up before teaching. After directing a play and musical groups, she sometimes does not have the time to continue cleaning up after the plays and performances. My volunteering hours helped her to move on to the next activities she has planned to direct the plays for the other students to be successful to move on for the next play.

The impact the PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club has on the community is, the Fowler  Drama Club encouraged students to be well organized. The club helps inspire students to pursued their dreams of becoming actors and actresses.

I recommend Other students to participate in the PSLA/ Fowler Drama Club because the program shows positive role model for young people like students be inspired to have the hope of following their dreams of acting or wishing of other positive careers.
The PSLA/Fowler Drama Club is willing to help anyone who’s interested in acting in schools and other areas to follow their passion in being an artist.
